Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions for Rubart Writing Academy, LLC.

These terms and conditions set forth the parameters under which The Rubart Writing Academy, a Washington LLC, will provide services to you, the user, concerning The Rubart Writing Academy in person events. 

We maintain that by attending our in person event, you have read and do unreservedly accept this Agreement. This Agreement is important to you as well as us, in that it is used to protect your rights as a valued customer and our rights as a business.

This Agreement is effective as of January 1st, 2018, and has been updated April 9th, 2019.

If you do not accept this agreement in its entirety you will not be able to attend our in person event. 

Our Services

Our aim is to provide writers with the tools they need in order to get published and/or accelerate their publishing career. We do this through in person teaching, as well as online courses, our email newsletter, and one on one consulting. We cannot and do not claim that attending will guarantee publication. That depends on your willingness to take what we teach and work hard at achieving your goals. We will however, show you the way, and provide all we can for you to succeed. 

Fees for Services

We accept payment via credit card, debit card, bank transfer, or paypal.

Our payment gateway is run through Stripe, a fully secure payment software. More information can be found on their website, stripe.com.

Payment Methods

For The Academy, we provide two options:

1. Pay in full, a one time payment of $1,785.00.

2. Utilize our payment plan which is $325.00 per month for six months. 

Refunds

Due to The Academy being a live event, and the hard costs of the physical materials we provide students, as well as the opportunity cost of limiting the amount of students who attend The Academy, we cannot provide full refunds.

However, we can provide a half refund up to two months before The Academy. Once The Academy is less than 2 months away, we are unable to provide refunds. This applies to both students who pay in full, and students who are paying via the payment plan. 

If there are extenuating circumstances, such as “Acts of God” (flood, fire, car accident, extreme illness, death of a family member) we will discuss refunds with the student on a case by case basis.

If you are unable to attend for a non “Act of God” reason, we often give students the option to apply their tuition to a future Academy. Doing this however, does not mean you’ve registered for a future Academy and are eligible for a half refund, if that future Academy is more than two months in the future.  

Accommodation & Flight Insurance

In the rare event that time or date needs to be altered, we suggest you purchase accommodation and flight insurance for your protection.

Intellectual Property Ownership

All the content presented in association with The Academy, before, during, and after, is our exclusive property. Any partial or total reproduction of this content, by any means, is subject to our prior and express written authorization. United States law concerning intellectual property ownership and copyright protects all Content offered  our Academy.

All fraudulent use or distribution of content or materials that violates the rights held by a third party is severely punishable under the United States Law.

We will not, under any circumstances, be held responsible if a user violates rights held by a third party through your activities at our Academy

Unauthorized use of Materials

We respect the intellectual property of others and we ask you to do the same. None of the materials presented at The Academy, or used in conjunction with Academy activities may be reproduced, redistributed, or sold. We retain the sole rights over all of the materials — videos, workbooks, questionnaires, presentations, etc.

Film, Photography & Other Media

Throughout The Academy, we will take pictures, video, and audio recordings to help share the experience with others through our social channels, website, and email marketing. By completing your registration, you are consenting to having your picture taken, and video of yourself captured, and edited for marketing purposes. You also consent to having your full name used in marketing material, such as photographs, or film. 

We also capture optional testimonials at the end of each Academy – by participating, you consent to us using your name and video recording to create marketing material for The Rubart Writing Academy, LLC. We may edit the video, to create a more cohesive story. 

If for any reason you do not wish to appear on film, photographs, or audio recordings, please contact us so we can respect your wishes and not include you in the above.  

 

Terms of Agreement

This agreement between Rubart Writing Academy, LLC and the attendee / student begins on the day he or she registers for one of our in person events. This agreement will terminate when/if agreed upon by both parties.
