“Whether you think you can or think you can’t … you’re right.” Henry Ford. I first heard this quote in 7th grade and it’s always stuck with me. Because at the end of 8th grade, I believed I couldn’t. At the end of that year I tried out for the school paper because I loved to write, but I wasn’t chosen.
This past weekend I was on faculty at the Mt Hermon Christian Writers Conference in California and I loved it. But wow! Not much time to even breathe as I had appointments with my students as well as aspiring writers racked and stacked all day long.
You understand procrastination comes from fear, yes? Fear of failure. Fear of success. Or fear of your art, or your friendship, or the meal you’re cooking or your writing … not being perfect.
